• Future reclamation efforts at the mine will continue over the next
several years under the Interim Reclamation Plan. A number of areas
indicated on Table 4.4.1-1 will achieve final reclamation status under
this plan, as subsequent, redisturbance of these areas during final
reclamation will not be necessary. The refuse disposal area will be
re vegetated sequentially as the pile is constructed during the life of
the project.
4.4.2.3 Final Reclamation
Topsoil Removal, Storage and Distribution
The coal processing waste disposal area will be constructed to speci-
fications of the applicable regulations for the disposal of such
wastes.
The soils at the refuse site have been sampled and analyzed according
to methods approved by the Division. It has been determined that no
additional salvageable material occurs at the site. The Division has
been apprised of this finding and has concurred.
Reclamation of this area will be done in increments as the lifts are
completed. The final compacted waste material will be covered with 4
feet of good quality fill material. This material is not available at
the site and will be purchased and imported as required. Distribution
of the cover material will be handled in such a way as to prevent
heavy compaction of the top 2 feet, in order to accommodate plant
growth.
•
-~T,
_.
~, ' ,
.-
~~,
4-46
