The 1989 Rill and Gully
Plan was submitted to the Division on May 23, 1989. Newly
identified rill areas from the 1990 survey are shown on
the enclosed aerial photograph. -
None of the newly identified rill areas appear severe
enough to prohibit successful revegetation, disrupt the
achievement of the postmining land use, or cause a
degradation of water quality standards for a receiving
stream. At this time, remedial action is not warranted in
these areas; however, they will continue to be monitored.
If any of the identified areas increase in severity or
cause damage to adjacent areas, the source of the problem
will be corrected, the rill or gully will be filled or
regraded, and the area will be reseeded.
Rill and gully repairs made in areas identified during the
1989 survey were also inspected for effectiveness. All
1989 repair activities appear to have been successful in
these areas. Action taken in 1989 survey areas were
consistent with the plan presented in the May 23, 1989
letter to the Division.
If you have any questions either contact me or Roy Karo
who can be reached at the Seneca Mine.
Sincerely,
~-' James S.
