The amount of this training varies depending upon the purpose of the
visit, or the service or work that is to be performed on the property, but is required for any person who enters the
property for any reason.
This training requirement must be a joint responsibility of Bowie and our suppliers, vendors and contractors.
M.S.H.P.. will enforce this requirement by issuing citations to both parties if an employee enters the property without
the training. These citations will result in a civil penalty for any company cited. The amount of the civil penalty can be
severe depending on the hazards the employee may be exposed to.
This hazard training is valid for 1-year from the date of the training and must be renewed each year.
It is also critical that you understand that suppliers, vendors, and contractors can be cited if their employees do not
follow the Federal Coal Mine Health and Safety Regulations or if your equipment or vehicles are not in safe operating
condition or in compliance with the regulations.
This is a dual responsibility. You must insure that your employees understand the need for hazard training and that it
be kept up to date. All persons who enter Bowie Resources property must check in with the Warehouse or Mine
Office to receive hazard training or to insure that their training is current and adequate for the service or work to be
performed.
When a person has received adequate hazard training they will be given a copy of the training document. This
training record must be kept with the person trained at all times while they are on mine property.
If you have any questions please contact me at 970-929-5253 or any Bowie manager.
Sincerely,
~~Kaes~w
Ernal Shaw
Manager, Safety
