The Water Quality Control Division takes your comments seriously and we have looked into your
concerns.
It is our understanding that you are concerned that the mine dewatering activities at the V errs Sand and Gravel Pit
# 115 (Kurtz Resource Recovery and Land Development Project, COG-0500356) are impacting your private well in
the vicinity of the Pik On August 12, 2002, Division staff conducted a site inspection at the facility. The results of
the inspection conclude that the issues identified in your letter fall within the regulatory authority of the Colorado
Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG), rather than the Water Quality Control Division. We understand that GRIP
has been in contact with Mr. Carl Mount of the DMG.
