:: ~
~~~ I~~~~~!~~~I~~I~~
i
GOLD HILL VENTURES
P.O. Box 1523
Longmont, Colorado 80502
(303) 651-2985
Mr. William C. York-Feirn
Mined Land Reclamation Division
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Mr. York-Feirn,
RECEIVES
MAR 2 5 1992
Mined Land
Reclamation n",:~r~~
March 25, 1992
Attached to this letter are copies of the analysis reports obtained from Skyline Labs of
the sample of the concentrates that Mr. Tatman placed on the ground near the Gold Hill Mill.
These are the same concentrates that I believe Mr. Tatman and a COM, Inc. employee
were processing in the mill's concentrate thickener tank and disc filter circuit in July, 1991. I
have been informed that these concentrates were trucked to the Cominco Metals smelter in
Trail, British Columbia, by Keeter Trucking. These concentrates were rejected by the smelter
for having too high a moisture content. Upon their being brought back from Canada by Keeter
Trucking, these concentrates were placed on the ground in a berm constructed out of low grade
fines from the Cash mine for the purpose of drying them outside.
In Mr. Tatman's December 17, 1991 response letter, he stated that these concentrates
had been scraped up and placed in the tailings pond. In fact, they had not been touched as late
as the first week in February, 1992. The physical evidence in February of this year indicated
to me that these concentrates (and a good portion of Gold Hill Ventures' ore) were placed in
the coarse ore bin. The enclosed photographs were taken on January 5, and in early February
of this year. The area around where these concentrates were dried has not yet been cleaned
up, and a good deal of plastic trash and other debris are still on the ground.
I hope that you can prevail upon Mr. Tatman and COM, Inc. to have this mess cleaned
up.
Very truly yours,
Mark A.
