This
information will be used to make a quantitative determination of the success of the revegetation efforts
on the reclaimed area and will also be used to support any subsequent Division written findings
regazding our termination of jurisdiction at the site.
As you may recall, you indicated that you would leave the decision to retain the sediment ponds to the
lessee, Lawrence and Anita Farro. They have indicated verbally that they would like the sediment
ponds to remain to provide water retention for livestock and wildlife water. One pond is located on the
mine bench at the portal site and one pond is located at the coal sales yazd.
For our records, could you please sign below and return a copy of this letter to the above address
regarding your desire to retain the two sediment ponds at the site.
AS THE LANDOWNER OF THE RECLAIMED AREAS AT THE TWIN PINES MINE SITE,
PERMIT # C-83-058 I REQUEST THAT THE SEDIMENT POND AT THE COAL SALES YARD
AND THE SEDIMENT POND AT THE MINE PORTAL AREA BE RETAINED AS PERMANENT
IMPOUNDMENTS FOR LIVESTOCK AND WILDLIFE USEAGE.
SIGNED
DA'
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at your convenience.
