Long Dw~sion Director The Division received your letter of December 1, 1993 on December 7, 1993. We wish to take the opportunity to respond to your questions. Your fast statement asked if an inspection had been made of your residence and that of Mr. Jce Chavez, pursuant to Rule 5.02.5, and, if so, to provide a copy of the report. - An inspection of your residence and that of Mr. Jce Chavez occurred on November 17, 1992. Attached is a copy of the inspection report. Your second statement requested that the Division supply you a copy of the subsidence monitoring reports for the area close to the Tatum house. - The permit application for the Golden Pagle Mine does not require that the refer- enced surface area be monitored for subsidence until one month prior to under- mining of the adobe structures. This is stated in Stipulation No. 28, which, in turn, refers to Rule 2.05.6(6)(c)(i)(D). Map 3, which shows the mine plan, and Map 16, which shows the location of the adobe buildings, indicate that the adobe structures have not been undermined, so subsidence monitoring of that area is not required, nor is it occurring, to our knowledge, at this time. If the operator has surveyed elevations of certain monuments in other areas near the adobe buildings, then it was not required by the Division, so reporting is not necessary. As such, we have no such records that we may provide to you. If you are in possession of such survey information, please provide us with it.
