III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
RECEIVED
The Pittsburg & Midway Coal Mining Co.
A Chevron Company
Edna Mine
P.O. Box 176, Oak Creek, CO 80467
(303)736-8111
Ms. Susan Morrison
Division of Minerals & Geology
1313 Sherman Street
Room 215
Denver, CO 80203-2273
Dear Ms. Morrison:
APR 2 01993
.Division flt M,nerais d Geology
April 14, 1993
This letter is in response to "REQUIRED REVISIONS", Item 1, Section
III of your inspection report ending 4/2/93. The concern noted was
dewatering of the Moffat pit area.
In reviewing Section 3.5.3.1 of the Edna Mine permit application,
it was noted that the dewatering of the pits had been addressed.
In accordance with the plan in the permit we will place a pump at
the collected water area of the pit and pipe the water directly
into the Moffat Area diversion ditch. This will allow the access
road into the pond to dry as weather permits so that we can
maintain the road as required.
Weather permitting we anticipate having the road bladed for proper
access by May 28, 1993. The pumping of this water directly into
the ditch will also correct the problem of material sloughing off
the sides of the ditch embankment from inflow of water from the pit
area.
Should you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact
me at the Edna Mine site.
Sincerel ,
~p;,- '-."'.'"`t'om'
David Beverlin
Resident Engineer
