Page 2
Mr. Bob Oswald
May 7, 2003
There have been weeks when that heavy equipment was going 7 days per week, from lam to 7pm; one
morning we were awaken at 6:45am with the startup of the equipment The noise level from that heavy
equipment is high. The noise is already a factor at the Timber Ridge Campground and will only get worse
as the campground fills with campers. The highway noise has increased 100 fold since the removal of the
trees. The pollution from the diesel engines n,nn;ng at the pit has been incredible. I, myself, have some
intense headaches when the diesel machinery is going due to the diesel exhaust
We know it is too late to save the trees and repair the land. We aze also aware that it is his property. But it
is what he is doing on his property that is affecting each of us and our properties. We all value our land,
the trees and the beauty here. If we have to have a gravel pit in our backyazds, he should have to follow the
guidelines by the book. Mr. Olin obviously has no respect for rules and regulations set before him, let alone
respect for others and their properly. -
We appreciate your time in this matter. We would also appreciate it if you would forwazd this letter to
anyone else who oversees the permit that Mr. Olin holds and could follow-up on the compliance of the
requirements that Mr. Olin agreed to in order to get the permit
Sincerely, C.~~'l~G/l~~ / ~ U~ C~ ~C't, ~~
~~ ~~
Ci~G~ .~~

cc: Mr. David Vince, Duector of Pazks and Recreation, City of Ouray
Mr. Michael Penny, City Administrator, City of Ouray
Ms. Pam Larson, Mayor of Ou;ay
