Shelton
Director
Re: Hawk's Nest Permit Application - Our File No. G-016-81
Dear Catherine:
This letter conveys concerns identified by the Division of the Mined Land
Reclamation and the Office of Surface Mining in the joint preliminary adequacy
review of the above referenced application. The preliminary review was completed
for the entire mine plan. This letter constitutes the 60-day notification of
preliminary findings as required in 2.07.4(1) of the Colorado Rules and Regula-
tions, The preliminary nature of the enclosed comments must be stressed at this
point. Additional information may be required as the review continues.
The Division's decision to approve, deny, or modify the permit application or
continue the review after the 120-day review period expires, depends largely
on how rapidly 41SC is able to respond to this letter. Please submit any
requested information in a form which can be readily included in the present
application.
I recommend that once you have examined our comments we have a meeting to discuss
the issues.
If you have any questions, please contact Fred Banta or myself.
Slincerely,
~-~
Dan Mathews ,
Reclamation Specialist
DM:mab
Enclosure
cr.
