Ill IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII a
STATE OF COL~~.~,~
MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St.. Room 215
Denver, C080203
303 866-3567
Fa X: 303 832-8106
March 23, 1992
Mr. Bill Agnew
Trapper Mining, Inc.
P.O. Box 187
Craig, Colorado 81626
RE: Bonding Forms/Landfill Discussion Follow-up
Dear Mr. Agnew:
pF Co~O
R~ ~
HP'-~ri'l7~`~9p
~ l8~l6 ~`
Roy Romer.
Governor
Michael B. Long.
Division Drtenor
Enclosed please find the bonding forms that the Division will use for your
upcoming Permit Renewal/Revision.
Also, I investigated the potential for disposal of sawdust in the pit areas on
the mine site. I do not see any problems provided the following items wentc;re
addressed:
Your permit issued by the Colorado Department of Health (CDOH)
would need amended or updated and;
2. A technical revision is submitted and approved which a) discusses
the anticipated environmental impact, if any, b> a plan to insure
only lumber by-products are disposed of, c) a description of
fugitive dust control measures, and d) projected disposal volumes,
potential cut locations, compaction issues, combustion hazards, if
any.
Based on the fact that Trapper already has approval to dispose of fly ash in
the pit areas, I would not think alteration of your CDOH permit would be
difficult. The important point to consider would be the potential for
hazardous waste to be "included" with the sawdust and the potential for
Trapper to be ultimately responsible for any negative environmental impact.
Please call if you have questions.
Sincerely, ,~ e
~~u `~' `~s'^~
Kent A.
