The surface water monitoring plan was submitted under 2.OS.fi(3)(b)(iii) <br />and includes the following: (4.05.13(2)). <br />The program calls for weekly monitoring of all surface sites during March <br />through June and monthly during July through October. A full water <br />quality suite (metals) is performed on a semiannual basis. Pond staff <br />gauges will be read for water and sediment levels semiannually. <br />Sediment pond discharge monitoring will be conducted as per the NPDES <br />permit on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis as specified. Reporting <br />is on a quarterly basis. All sediment ponds are to be inspected and a <br />report submitted quarterly. The monitoring schedule can be found in the <br />application as table 61, volume 3. <br />B. Stream Buffer Zones <br />I. The Division proposes to approve surface or underground mining <br />activities within 100 feet or through a perennial stream or stream with a <br />biological community. This decision is based on a finding that the <br />Marr Strip Mine, C-80-006 21 December 9, 1992 <br />
