1.5 BUSINESS STRUCTURE <br />The applicant, The Pittsburg & Midway Coal Mining Co., is a United States corporation <br />incorporated under the laws of the State of Missouri. P&M is a wholly owned subsidiary <br />of Chevron USA. Appendix 1.5-A contains a short narrative describing the ownership <br />and control of P&M, along with a current list of the officers and directors of both P&M <br />and Chevron USA. <br />1.6 COAL MINE PERMITS AND LICENSES <br />The applicant, applicant's partner and/or principal shareholder has previously operated <br />surface coal mines in the United States within five years preceding the date o£ this <br />application under the names of: <br />The Pittsburg & Midway Coal Mining Co. <br />6400 S. Fiddler's Green Circle <br />Englewood, Colorado 80111 <br />and: <br />North River Energy Co. <br />Drawer 519 <br />Berry, Alabama 35546 <br />(205)68911791 <br />Additionally, oa July 31, 1981, The Pittsburg & Midway Coal Mining Co. assumed a <br />50 percent interest in the Emery Mine, operated by Consolidated Coal Company, P.O. <br />Box 527, Emery, Utah 84522. Consolidated Coal Company has 100 percent operational <br />control of this mine. <br />The Powell Bend Mining Company is an entity alliliated with Chevron Corporation that <br />operates the Powell Bend Mine under contract to the Lower Colorado River Authority. <br />The Lower Colorado River Authority is the owner and permittee of that mine. <br />The Pittsburg & Midway Coal Mining Co. operates or owns interest in mines in <br />Alabama, Colorado, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, New Mexico, Texas, <br />Utah and Wyoming.
