Sandy Brown <br />Page 4 <br />November 1, 2006 <br />The above photo shows several remnant undisturbed shrub stands that were left <br />undisturbed during mining operations, in the immediate vicinity of the disturbed areas. <br />These remnant undisturbed shrub clumps will effectively break up the open grassland <br />reclaimed stands, providing small islands of woody cover that will enhance the value of <br />the area as habitat for various wildlife species, including sharptail grouse and mule deer, <br />particularly during the early stages of vegetation establishment, before woody <br />reclamation plantings have made significant growth. <br />C: Dan Mathews DRMS <br />
