Swctures and practices will appropriately match the site conditions. Specifications and
installation will be based on envirottmental conditions under which they are expected to
perform.
• Consideration of the range of climatic site conditions that occur throughout the yeaz will be
made. Specifications and installation will be based on climatic conditions under which they
are expected to perform.
The practice of routinely prescribing controls for erosion and sedimentation problems will be
avoided. Each situation will be treated creatively to minimise the cost of construction and
treatment, while striving to max;m;~e their effectiveness.
3.3.2 BMP Specifications .
The Plan groups BMPs into general categories based on their respective erosion and sediment
control applications. The fundamental groups are Concentrated Flow Structures (Appendix B),
Surface Treatments and Slope Protection (Appendix C), Water Treatmea (Appendix D), and
Biotechnical Stabilization Measures (Appendix E). While some practices and structures may be
limited to individual categories, others represent useful applications for multiple categories.
The prevalent and common uses and situations in which the various BD+fPs will be used ate
detailed in Section 4.0.

Amcricm Soda, L.L.P. 3-6
Soil Consavazioo, Erosion and Sediircn[
Conwl.
