<br />comprehensive data base fvr western Colorado. <br />Field Methods <br />A class III (100 pedestrian) inventory of the proposed well loca- <br />tions was made by walking each in a pattern of concentric circles (spaced <br />15 to 25 feet apart) to a diameter'of approximately 400', thus covering <br />an area of 2.5-3.0 acres. In-field orientation was provided by Rocky <br />Bowman of West Elk Coal Company, Inc. A total of approximately 7.5 acres <br />was surveyed for cultural resources. <br />Survey Results and Recommendations <br />One isolated find (SGN1734), a then interior flake, was found within <br />the 2.5-acre plot surveyed around well iii. The find is considered insigni- <br />ficant and ineligible to the NRHP. No other cultural materials were located <br />in the study area, however, and. no further work regarding cultural resouces <br />is recommended for the surface extent of this project. <br />References <br />Applegarth, Susan M. and Robert E.
