75.1321-(al(5) 1. The roof will be checked before and after blasting. <br />2. The blast area will be tested for methane before and <br />after blasting. <br />3. All fumes from the blasting area will be coursed <br />to the return and will not pass through areas where <br />miners are working. <br />4. Ventilation will be re-established after blasting and <br />before the next step in the blasting cycle begins. <br />5. Explosives will be handled, stored, and transported in <br />compliance with all the statutory provisions of Section <br />75.1300. <br />6. Shots will be fired by certified and trained personnel. <br />7. The shot-firing unit will be properly tested and <br />maintained. <br />8. No more than fifty (50) shots will be fired in one round. <br />9. All persons involved in the use and transportation of <br />explosives will be trained on the proper safeguards and <br />rules. <br />10. All series circuits wired in parallel will be balanced to <br />within one (1) detonator delay period. <br />1 1 . The range of delay type electric detonators will be <br />limited from 25 to 1 ,000 milliseconds. <br />12. Detonators will be bronze shells with iron or copper leg <br />wires. Copper and iron leg wires will not be mixed in <br />the same round. <br />13. All electrical power within fifty (50) feet of the blasting <br />area will be de-energized prior to loading and shooting <br />operations. <br />14. All explosives will be permissible as determined by the <br />U.S. Bureau of Mines. <br />1 5. No more than five (51 pounds of explosives will be used <br />in any one borehole that is natural solid rock.
