No. 05-03836 <br />Permit For Firing More Than <br />20 Boreholes And For The Use <br />Of A Nonpermissible Blasting Unit <br />Dear Mr. Dodd: <br />This is in response to Twentymile Coal Company's application dated <br />January 26, 1995, for a permit to use a nonpermissible shot-firing <br />unit and fire more thane20 boreholes in a round, in the "O" Entry <br />Shaft Project of the subject mine. The application, as outlined in <br />your submittal, is granted, subject to the safeguards listed below. <br />The duration of the permit is limited to one calendar year. <br />Under the authority of 30 CFR 75.1321 (d), the District Manager is <br />specifying the following additional safeguards as conditions of <br />this permit: <br />1. This permit is granted for the use of an MSHA <br />accepted, larger-capacity, solid-state, <br />electronic shot blaster for use in underground <br />coal mines. <br />2. Electric detonator leg wires, blasting unit, <br />and cable conductors shall be kept shunted <br />until ready for final connection. <br />3. This permit allows for no more than 50 shots <br />to be fired in one round with the use of the <br />nonpermissible shot-firing unit for blasting. <br />4. This permit allows blasting of the "O" Entry <br />Shaft Project (North Mains). <br /> <br />
