BoX 147
Fairplay, Colorado 80440
RE: Criteria for maps submitted with a conversion application, Eleven
Mile Pit, File No. M-80-014
Dear Mr. Oker:
Thank you for inquiring about the acceptability of the map drawn for
the Eleven Mile Gravel Pit conversion. The Rules and Regulations
present criteria to which your maps must conform. These Rules are as
follows:
Rule 6.2.1(2) gives general requirements.
Rule 6.3.5 explains more specifically what must be included on two
maps, one for the mining plan and one for the reclamation plan.
Rule 6.3.3(1)(b),(c),(e} and (m) explains more about what needs to be
included on the mining plan map.
Rule 6.3.4(1)(d) and (e) includes reclamation information which needs
to be included on the reclamation plan.
The copy of the map which you sent for our review needs to be larger in
scale, sufficient enough to clearly show the required elements of the
operation. The Division has no objections to using a hand drawn map as
long as it includes the information outlined in the Rules cited above
and it is accurate. For example, you will need to show on the mining
plan map, the locations of all permanent man-made structures within 200
feet of the affected area, land owners within 200 feet, the location of
all currently disturbed areas, thickness of overburden, direction of
mining, location of topsoil stockpiles and the major components of the
mining operation. The reclamation plan map must include things such as
the average thickness of topsoil and overburden replaced on the site
