Memo to Susaa McCanaoa
Tatum Residence Bxamiaation Protocol
page 3

2 toured the grounds surrounding the house from the railroad tracks
located to the south of the structure to the channel of the
Purgatoire River, north of the structure. I hiked the area
approximately several hundred feet to the west and east of the
house. I examined other structures, such as the railroad tracks,
irrigation structures, fences, roads, and general topography for
evidence of abnormal distress, inconsistent with natural phenomena.
Formulation of Opiaioa
Following my completion of the structure and environmental
examinations, I then attempt to review other pertinent information.
I am familiar with the general methodology of subsidence control
and subsidence monitoring plans of the Golden Eagle mine permit.
Based upon that knowledge I formulated my opinion and drafted my
opinion memorandum. After the completion of my opinion memorandum,
I reviewed two reports submitted to the Division by Mr. Carlton E.
Gerity, P.E., consultant to the Tatums. I did not amend my opinion
in response to Mr. Gerity's reports.
cc: Dan Hernandez
Randy Price
Joe Dudash
Mike Long, Director
Doc: M:\COAL\JAP\TATPROTO.MEM
JP/JP
