Bedrock structural basins strongly influence the direction of <br />ground water flow in contiguous regional aquifers and thus, <br />these structural basins define the limits of the areas <br />considered to be hydrogeologically interrelated. Generally, <br />this means that the ground water impacts of all mining within a <br />distinct structural basin be analyzed and the sum of those <br />impacts be considered as they affect surface water systems. <br />The Energy Mine No. 3 is located within the Twentymile Park <br />Structural Basin (Figures 1 and 31. The ground water portions <br />of this CHIS are limited to analyzing the cumulative impacts of <br />anticipated mining within this basin. <br />The anticipated mining within the surface water general area <br />includes both surface and underground mines (Figure 21. Most <br />of these are located in the Trout Creek Drainage Basin.
