The east edge of the property is bordered, in part, by a mining operation
presently operated by Canyon Quarry Company. While we have no evidence, as ye[, to verity
our concerns, the City has reason to believe that a certain portion of this muting operation has
infringed into City-owned property and extends outside the boundaries of their mining oetmit.
I have included a portion of a topo map, which includes the highlighted quarter section ~.vhere the
mining activity has taken place. While the quarter section contains multiple claims, ~.ve are
concerned with the activity in the northwest corner of the highlighted area.
1 would appreciate your assistance in helping us determine whether a violation of the mining
permit has been committed. First, l would like to determine [he permit number for the mining
operation in the northwest comer of the highlighted property. Second, 1 would like a copy of the
current permit, including all exhibits. Please send a bill for all copy charges to the above address.
I appreciate your assistance in this matter. If you have any questions, please call me at (719) 269-
9011.
Jliil.Cl 1 ,
Leven G.
