LexisNexis(TM) Academic -Document <br /> <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />is empowered to make such agreements with the approval of the attorney general, not inconsistent with the <br />laws of [his state, as may be required as a condition precedent to receiving such funds or other assistance. <br />(k) To implement a program of salvage archaeology, which shall include surveys and either the salvage or <br />the preservation of sites or antiquities imperiled by construction or other earth-movement projects; <br />(I) To establish and coordinate a procedure by which an historical, prehistorical, or archaeological resource <br />belonging to the state of Colorado may be removed from Colorado on a loan basis, subject to its return <br />pursuant to section 24-80-406. <br />(2) The duties of the state archaeologist are to fulfill the objectives of this part 4 and, together with other <br />employees of the society, to work for the maximum beneficial conservation of the archaeological resources of <br />the state of Colorado and the acquisition and dissemination of knowledge pertaining to archaeology. <br />HISTORY: Source: L. 73: R&RE, p. 1382, § 1.C.R.S. 1963: § 131-12-S.L. 90: (1)(I) added, p. 1278, § 2, <br />effective May 9.
