GeoiogY
Thank you for your letter of April 4, 1996 that responds to the
questions listed in the March 28, 1996 OSM correspondence regarding
the reclamation plan for the Ohio Creek No. 2 Mine, located in
Gunnison County, Colorado. Because the proposed mine site
reclamation does not deviate significantly from the approved
permit, OSM does not have to approve the reclamation plan.
As discussed earlier, OSM intends to conduct joint site inspections
with DMG during and after reclamation. Please notify this office
once the reclamation work has been contracted out and an
implementation schedule has been developed.
We understand that reclamation is proposed in two phases. The
second reclamation phase will include removal of the sedimentation
pond and drainage ditches; revegetation, if necessary; and
monitoring and maintenance. No bond money should be returned until
completion of the second-phase reclamation.
If you should have any questions, please contact Henry Austin (672-
5572), Glen Golden (672-5563), or Mitch Rollings (672-5514).
Sincerely,
~~r--~~
James F. Fulton, Chief
Denver Field Division
cc: Pete Rutledge, Chief
Program Support Division
OSM Western Regional Coordinating Center
