(~
11
Recommendations
5RT132 is a large, but highly disturbed site. Intact deposition occurs
in a small area of Locus A and over about 40z of Locus C. Overall, about 90X
of the site area is not intact, however. Within Locus A, cultural material,
including chipped stone flakes and tools and scattered charcoal, is present in
low/moderate density. An additional sample of artifacts could be retrieved by
more excavation, but there is no indication that good level definition or an
undisturbed activity area will be found. Most of the locus has been eroded away
and what remains has been reworked by extensive burrowing. Little information
beyond what has already been retrieved would result from additional work.
Locus B is totally eroded. Buried cultural material is extremely sparse
in Locus C.
Thus, the site appears to hold limited potential for addressing research
goals for the area (Guthrie et al. 1984; LaPoint 1987). Because of this, it is
recommended as not eligible for the National Register of Historic Places and
cultural resource clearance is recommended.
