<br />In May, 1986, Yampa Mining submitted Technical Revision 51, to change the <br />post-mining topography to accommodate 462,000 LCY of overburden by widening <br />the ridge on the west side of the permit area. In September, 1986, Technical <br />Revision 52 was submitted to address the temporary and permanent drainage <br />structures required for the post-mining topography, Both revisions were <br />approved by the Division. These revisions resulted in slopes less than 20% <br />grade, three permanent drainage ditches and seventeen new temporary diversion <br />ditches. <br />The operation is in compliance with the requirements of this section. <br />XVII. Special Categories of Mining - Rules 2.06, 4.22 throw h 4.29 <br />The only special category of mining which applies to the Hayden Gulch Mine is: <br />A. Coal processing plant and support facility not located at or near the <br />mine site. <br />The loadout facility, two miles southeast of Hayden, is seven miles northeast <br />of the mine site. The facility has 134 permitted acres under Permit No. <br />C-80-003, of which fifty-four (54) are disturbed. The loadout is not being <br />reclaimed at this time in anticipation of future development of coal reserves <br />adjacent to the shop/office area. <br />The proposed operation is in compliance with the requirements of this section. <br />XVIII. Coal Processin Waste and Non-Coal Waste - Rules 2.05.3(8), <br />an <br />There is no coal processing waste produced at the Hayden Gulch Mine as noted <br />in Section 2.05.3(8). A sanitary landfill was constructed west of the <br />facilities area, but was never used. It has been reclaimed and revegetated. <br />Non-coal waste was backfilled into the main pit above the water table at <br />various times during the life of the mining operation. Consequently, the <br />operation is in compliance with the requirements of this section. <br />XIX. P1ine Facilities, Coal Handling Structures, Support Facilities <br />The mine facilities, coal handling structures, and support facilities sections <br />of the permit application have been reviewed by the Division. The mine <br />facilities and support facilities portions of the permit application can be <br />found in Section 2.05.3(Volume I), Appendix E (Volume III), Appendix N (Volume <br />V), and Appendices 0, P, and Q (Volume VI).
