Not only are <br />they asking for an expansion of the <br />permit they hold controlling air <br />quality, they've also asked the state <br />Division of Mined Land Reclama- <br />tion to allow them to expand the <br />quarry area. <br />Mesa County Attorney Lyle De- <br />chant filed a preliminary•injunc- <br />tion last month in Mesa County Dis- <br />trio Court against the Schmahls, <br />- and against L.G. Everest, Inc. of <br />Golden, to stop mining operations <br />- there. The injunction was filed just <br />as Everest was completing a con- <br />- tract to supply rock for riprapping <br />for the road construction project in <br />- De Beque Canyon. <br />_ Scott Miller monitors air pollu- <br />tion levels locally for the stale.
