At 7:30 p.m. Wednesday June 11, 2001, I returned from the field and checked phone messages. One of the phone messages was from Carol Stepe. Ms. Stepe's message indicated that the correct mailing address for James E. Preston, attorney representing Jack Akin and Carol Stepe, was P.O. 1416, Dolores, CO 81323. However, the Certificate of Service, attached to DMG's June 10, 2001 notice to parties and interested persons of the petitions for reconsideration from James Preston and David Wuchert, indicated an incorrect mailing address for Mr. Preston. Ms. Stepe's message clarified that the correct mailing address for Mr. Preston was Dolores and not Cortez. Ms. Stepe's message also indicated that Mr. Preston may have not received several previous correspondence from DMG, possibly due to DMG mailing to the correct P.O. box, but to Cortez rather than Dolores. I immediately returned Ms. Stepe's message at the phone number provided in her message, 882-2300. I left a message on her answering machine informing her that the mailing list, utilized to address the envelope for DMG's June 10, 2001 notice, utilized the correct Dolores address for Mr. Preston. The referenced mailing list is attached. I was in the field all day Thursday, June 12, 2001. On Friday, June 13, 2001, I was in the office and returned Ms. Stepe's call. Ms. Stepe was available to discuss the issue. I thanked Ms. Stepe for informing us of the incorrect address on the June 10, 2001 Certificate of Service and clarified that the envelope had been addressed correctly. Ms. Stepe indicated that she had previously provided copy of several DMG documents to Mr. Preston because he was not receiving documents from DMG as soon as she was receiving documents. I responded that the Certificate of Service had been copied from an earlier document, when Mr. Preston's address had been in Cortez. Apparently, I had changed all portions of the address for the Certificate of Service, except for changing Cortez to Dolores. I stated that I would make a note of the correct address and ensure that the correct address be utilized. I did not re-mail recent documents to Mr. Preston because Ms. Stepe had indicated that she had already forwarded copies of DMG documents to Mr. Preston. Additionally, Mr. Preston has not indicated a problem with receiving mail from DMG. Finally, Mr. Preston is an attorney representing the Akin/Stepe party and the Akin/Stepe party has not indicated a problem with receiving mail from DMG. ~ III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII ..
