Contractor shall field measure and verify all existing conditions and dimensions <br />at job site. <br />2. in case existing conditions or dimensions vary from those shown on drawing, <br />Contractor shall notify the Engineer so proffer adjustments can be made. <br />3. The requirements of the latest edition of OSHA Construction Standards" shall <br />be complied with by all contractors, fabricators and suppliers. <br />CONCRETE GENERAL NOTES <br />1. Material and workmanship shall be in accordance with the requirements of <br />"Building Code Requirements for Reinforced Concrete" (ACI 318, latest edition). <br />2. All concrete shall have a minimum compressive strength (f c) of 4500 psi at <br />the age of 28 days. <br />3. All concrete shall contain 3/4" maximum size aggregate. <br />4. Reinforcing bars shall be deformed bars and shall conform to ASTM A -615, <br />Grade 60, except as noted. All bars are to be epoxy coated per ASTM A775. <br />5. Bar bending details and placing drawings shall be in accordance with the <br />"Manual of Standard Practice for Detailing Reinforced Concrete Structures" <br />(ACI 315, latest edition). <br />6. Provide bar supports and spacers to place all bars in proper location, and <br />wire adequately at intersections to hold bars firmly in position while concrete <br />is placed. <br />7. Bar supports and spacers which rest on or against exposed surface shall be <br />hot - dipped or galvanized. <br />8. Continuous bars shall lap and dowels shall project adequately to provide a <br />Class A splice, but not less than 12 inches unless noted otherwise. <br />9. Do not splice at maximum stress locations. <br />10. Where lop splice locations of horizontal bars are not specifically noted on <br />the drawings, lap splices are to be staggered. <br />11. Calcium Chloride shall not be added to concrete. <br />STRUCTURAL STEEL GENERAL NOTES <br />1. All steel shall conform to the "Standard Specification for Structural Steel" ASTM <br />Designation A36, latest edition, except as noted otherwise. Wide flange and <br />WT sections shall conform to ASTM Designation A992. Steel pipe shall conform <br />to ASTM Designation A53 (Type E or Type S), Grade B. Steel tubing shall <br />conform to ASTM Designation A500, Grade B. <br />2. All detailing, fabrication and erection shall conform to AISC "Specifications for <br />the Design, Fabrication and Erection of Structural Steel for Buildings ", and the <br />AISC "Code of Standard Practice for Steel Buildings and Bridges ", latest editions. <br />3. All weldina shall be done by certified welding operators, who each have in their <br />possession current evidence of passing the American Welding Society Standard <br />Qualifications Tests" as detailed in AWS D1.1. Welds shall conform with AWS <br />Structural Welding Code" (AWS D1.1), latest edition. <br />4. Weld sizes not otherwise shown shall be minimum continuous 5/16 inch fillet <br />welds. <br />5. All welding shall be done with AWS A5.1 or A5.5 E70 XX electrodes unless noted <br />otherwise. <br />6.
