The mining of area number
one will create topography in which this relocation can be done.
The relocated ditch will be designed and constructed with hydraulic
characteristics which will insure uninterupted flo~o of adjudicated
water in the basin ditch. It is probable that the relocated ditch
will be constructed in a material with high porosity and permeability
and will therefor require that it be sealed and/or lined to reduce
ditch loss to a minimum. Adequate working space will be created
along the ditch to provide for convenient maintenance and cleaning,.
Figure 6 of exhibit three illustrates the post-mining topography
of the project and shows the approximate location of an inverted
siphon which will transport the Basin ditch flow across the mined
out area to the existing Basin ditch west of the project.
This siphon will be designed and constructed to carry the full
adjudicated flow of the Basin ditch. It will be constructed of
a smooth wall pressure pipe designed for long life and minimum
maintenance and will be equipped Faith a valved clean-out at its
lowest point to facilitate flushing to remove accululated
sediment. The inlet and outlet will be fitted caith grating to
prevent access L-o the pipe by people or animals.
