Any and all written material directed to any Department official or employee from <br />any person or entity associated with Holland and Hart, Law Firm-Denver; Basin <br />Resources, Inc.; Montana Power; any subsidiary of Montana Power; or any other <br />party, individual, business or entity, concerning, relating to, referring to, <br />discussing, or in any way dealing with the complaint flied by Ann and Jim Tatum <br />against Basin Resources, Inc., a Division of Montana Power; the State of <br />Colorado Department of Natural Resources, Division of Minerals and Geology; <br />and/or the Office of Surface Mining. I am not regnesting copies of any ezhibits <br />attached to the appeal filed by Jim and Ann Tatum, IBLA Docket Number <br />96-91, or any ezhibits fled on behalf of OSM in response to our appeal. <br />No xraterial has beex provided ix response to this Inquiry. <br />One might believe that a portion of the above material I requested might in fact be <br />non-existent. If chat is the case then I should be advised accordingly w'sth the response to <br />specifically address my request and state no material exists. The only response, which <br />fits these criteria, would be the October 14, 1998 letter from Brock Wood, Attorney, from <br />the Office of the Solicitor, directed to Ms. Gonzales. I know that material exists on the <br />SDPS system and the government's refusal to date to produce that material remains a <br />mystery to me. <br />Please advise the date that I am to receive the above requested material and/or a <br />letter denying the existence of same. Almost 4 months have passed since my FOIA <br />request was received at the DOI.
