DIVISION OF MINERALS AND GEOLOGY
Department of Natural Resources
l l13 Sherman 51., Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Phone: 1303) A66-3567
FAX: 1303) 83?-8106
DATE: August 25, 1995
TO: Ric Fanyo
FROM: Allen Sorenson

III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII OF COLORADO
999
RE: Tailing Pond Liner Repairs, COM, Inc., Gold Hill Mill, Permit
No. M-94-117
Please find attached a copy of page 7 of COM, Inc.'s adequacy response
dated May 2, 1995. You can see that under item 27.d) COM, Inc. commits
to repair of all liner flaws by June 30, 1995. It is the Division's view,
that our acceptance of this commitment constitutes an extremely generous
extension of the September 10, 1994 deadline for liner repair specified
on page 4 of the August 17, 1994 inspection report filed by Bill York-
Feirn (copy also attached). In addition, the Division observed during a
July 19, 1995 inspection that liner repairs were underway, and it was
represented to the Division that liner repairs were a high priority and
would be assiduously pursued. To learn during the August 24, 1995 Board
Meeting, more than a year after the problem was first noted, that the
problem is still not corrected, is certainly cause for great concern.
cc: Gwen Fraser
Zo r n tv moo.
Phone p
Phone p
Faxp ;7 -~ B
(, Fax p
