:; <br />N.W. use-Rhode <br />May 24, 1994 <br />Page 2 <br />As a result of the applicable starcl~*+~~ and regulations pertainirrm to the fill <br />slope, OOVCC was required to include specific cartaitments in it's permit doam~ent <br />in order to seau~e pP*+~~~~ion from the Ir1G to utilize the fill slope as part of <br />the stock trail. 'these commitments were a key component tn+rards establishing the <br />cooperative agreement between yourself and the BIM which made the trail possible. <br />'Ihe ocn¢nitments are intended to protect the established vegetative cover and <br />prevent degradation of the fill slope which could again result in closure of the <br />trail. Copies of the applicable permit pages are included for your information. <br />The permit states that cattle dives across the fill slope shall be limited to <br />two per year with no more than 200 head of cattle per drive. 'Ilia permit states <br />the Division shall be notified prior to the oocinz~ice of any drive. ~e permit <br />states that cattle will be driven across the fill slope in a timely fashion and <br />will not be allc~ed to graze for extended periods. The permit states that travel <br />across the fill slope will be limited to livestock, and associated intermittent <br />horseback or ATV traffic only. <br />Please review the enclosed materials and contact me if you have any questions. <br />Please notify me if you intend to move cattle across the fill slope this spring. <br />Again, thank you for your continued cooperation.
