C-81-012 and C-81-013.
Dear Mr. Stout:
The Division has completed its review of the above referenced report. In
general it is quite well done. However, several questions have arisen based
on analysis of the data presented, These are as follows:
1) Several sites were no
monitoring schedule.
taken on well ACAW-l.
Reclamation Division
letter is dated after
measured at PRS-2 in
explanation is given.
Company (WFC) submit
t sampled in accordance with the approved
April and June field parameters were not
The reason listed was on the Mined Land
(MLRD) letter of September 1985, however this
the missing samples. Also, flow was not
February, April, May, and June. WFC should explain these increases.
3) Well CCAW-1 shows a marked increase for TDS in February and TSS in
November. Well PAW-6 also shows an increase in TDS for February,
and Well PAW-4 shows an increase in TSS for November. There
apprears to be a pattern in the readings for these wells which
should be addressed by WFC.
The high 7S5 readings for these wells may indicate that the sample is not
being filtered. WFC should verify that the proper laboratory procedures are
being followed for ground water sampling. In the future, TSS measurement
should be deleted for alluvial wells, as the parameter has no meaning with
respect to ground water quality.
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
