If there
will be no new surface disturbance and no new water depletions, we
concur with your finding of "no effect" for the proposed
modifications. On tiovember 15, 1985, we issued a biological
opinion for the bald eagle, Colorado squawfish, humpback chub, and
bonytail chub for the original mine plan for the Bear ~1ine. We
have no new federally endangered or threatened species to add to
the updated species list for this project. Your 1985 biological
assessment states There is no documented concentration of
wintering [ba1d1 eagles on or near the proposed action area."
However, we would note that wintering bald eagles do occur along
the Vorth Fork of the Gunnison River near the project area.
If the Service can be of further assistance, lease contact Sohn
Anderson of the Grand Junction office at 13031 =13-2778 or FTS 322-
03~1.
~~~~~«-
cc: FWS/FWE, SLC
Official File
Reading file
