Lonl; <br />FROM: Allen Sorenson / ow soon olrcdnr <br />RE: Liner Load and Interface Shear Data for 100 mil LLDPE, Cripple <br />Creek and Victor Gold Company, Cresson Project, <br />Permit No. M-80-244 <br />The operator has submitted load testing and shear strength testing for the <br />proposed Phase II Leach Pad configuration that includes 100 mil LLDPE with <br />a subgrade of Low Volume Leak Collection System Fill and overlain by Drain <br />Cover Fill. Since the liner was not compromised during the load testing, <br />and since the interfacial shear strengths from the testing exceed the <br />minimum required in the design and the permit, the proposed configuration <br />is acceptable. For any future load testing, the Division should require <br />that the largest specified particles of fill, for whatever the <br />configuration being tested, be preferentially placed in contact with the <br />liner being tested in order to simulate worst case conditions. <br />cc: Jim Dillie <br />C:~WPSI~CRESSON.48 <br />
