<br /> <br />KAISER-SIEt'ET.S DITCH PfODIFICATIO?;S <br />1 <br />This response is in answer to the letter dated August lE, 1°E1 from Colorado <br />Ptined Land Reclamation concerning the i:aiser-Sievers Ditch. <br />1. SnewTass must submit the engineered construction desicns for the existing __ <br />ditch modification to demonstrate that the foundation and concrete structure <br />will remain functional throughout the projected life of the mine. As reovired <br />under Section 2.10.3(2), the designs and drawings must be certified by a qual- <br />ified registered professional engineer. <br />Engineered construction design for the existing scructur~, <br />Drawing Kaiser-Sievers Ditch repair is .~rris:'let as past cf *_hi_=_uomittai. <br />2. Snowmass oust submit zs part of the application, a plan to replace the <br />water supply of the ditch user in the event failure of the ditch occurs. The <br />plan should be designed such that the users water supply is not interrupted <br />for a period of time that would result. in crop damage. Snowmass should include <br />a worse case estimate of the time required to implement this plan. <br />If the ditch should fail, Snowmass would commence repairing <br />the ditch within four hours of being notified of 2ny problems with <br />the ditch and a joint inspection with representatives of Snowmass <br />and Sievers Ranch and Development to determine the action to be <br />taken. Rater could be put in the ditch a ma};imum of twelve hours <br />after construction begins. <br />4. Snowmass must commiit to inspecting the ditch alteration daily during the <br />irrigation season and to report any leak<_ or potential .`zilure to both the <br /> <br />Division and the downstream user immediately. <br />
