Box 1589 OCT 131983
Rangely, CO 81648
~~ .
Dc;.r M:'. C~r'usD: MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION
Colo. Depc of Natural Resources
It has been brought to my attention that there is still some work that needs
to be completed on livestock improvements and access within a portion of the
public lands Western Fuels is occupying under BLM use authorizations. Fore-
most among jobs to be completed is the relocation of three stock driveway
holding corrals located at the junction of RBC #65 and RBC #78. Two large
corrals were partially displaced and all three were effectively left unusable.
Relocation of the subject facilities was apparently discussed between your-
self and John Fend of my staff sometime around June 28, 1983. Further action
was not pursed and the issue was tentatively dropped.
In pursuit of this action, David Harper and John Fend will be flagging the
relocation area for these corrals on Wednesday, October 12 in an effort to
have Western Fuels relocate the corrals sometime this fall.
On September 13, 1983 the approaches to several access roads were alsc +is-
cussed between yourself and David Harper of my staff. After d's~usslon it
was mutually agreed that Western Fuels would upgrade the acres; road
approaches at the following locations:
RBC#65 at Station #106 + 00 (approximate location)
RBC#65 at Station #(?) T3N, R101W. Sec. 33, NE1NW;
Coal Refuse Haul road at Station #22 + 50 (approximate location)
Moffat Co. Rd. #64 Station #(?) T3N, R101W, Sec. 7, NW~SE;.
These approaches should be repaired before winter this year.
Should you have any questions regarding this correspondence, please ccntact
David Harper.
~~Dan Mathews, MRLD
CONSERVE
(AMERICA'S
ENEROv
Sincerely,
~~~~~
B.
