September Monthly/3rd Quarter Report - 2002 <br />:• Page 2 , ... <br />"B List" Projects <br />• Columbus Mine Portals -Mine Waste Dumps <br />• London Mine Portals -Waste Dumps <br />Work, permitting or arrangement for access is not planned until it becomes evident that <br />the work plans for these projects require implementation. <br />• Mayflower Facility -Upland Hydrological Control <br />• Tailings Pond Na. 4 Surface Drainage Modification <br />• Tailings Pond No. 4 Upland Groundwater Diversion <br />DMG has inspected the sites and approved the projects as complying with the work plans <br />and MLR Standards. <br />Due to the scant snowfall this past winter and lack of spring and summer moisture, <br />vegetation on these sites was stressed but with the August and September moisture, it has <br />recovered and looks good with a surprising increase in density. Ofthe diversions, only <br />• Drainage C of the Mayflower Facility -Upland Hydrological Control Project was <br />actively diverting water continuously at month end although periodically during <br />rainstorms Drainage A, Drainage 13 and the Tailings Pond #4 Diversions have actively <br />diverted water. Progress pictures are attached. . <br />Cement Creek Diversion and Water Treatment <br />Cement Creek diversion and water treatment was active throughout September and the 3`d <br />quarter with all of the flow being diverted and treated through the first week in <br />September. Through the remaining month of September, the Cement Creek flow diverted <br />for treatment was controlled due to flow increases from storm events. All of the <br />American Tunnel flow was treated throughout the quarter. <br />The September 2002 monitoring results for; dissolved metals in the AT-004 discharge; <br />Cement Creek (CC-1B); American Tunnel flow before treatment (AT-INFEL); and <br />Cement Creek below the AT-004 discharge point (CC-20) are attached. <br />u <br />
