This meeting was held to discuss ongoing concerns relayed to DMG by the
Mautz' regarding damage to the Mautz cabin. As you know, the Mautz' assert that the cabin
damage is a result of subsidence caused by MCC. During the visit, certain areas of concern were
viewed, and these included such features as foundation cracking, dry wall cracking, gaps between
the floor slab and the foundation, and doors which do not function properly.
During the meeting of June 12, 1996, it was agreed that MCC would submit a summary report
which includes the Mautz cabin survey data and a summary of the data. This is generally
consistent with the commitment made by MCC in the December 14, 1994 adequacy response letter
completed during the Technical Revision No. 74 process. It does not appear that any Mautz cabin
information was provided with the recent Annual Subsidence Survey Report.
In summary, please provide a report which contains all Mautz cabin survey data, beginning with
the pre-mine survey to present. Please also analyze the data and present a clear summary of the
data. This summary could be in text and graphical form. Please also describe, in detail, work
performed to date in an effort to repair damage at the cabin. Please also include your assessment
of the damage observed during June 12, 1996 relative to previous damage observations.
Please submit this report by July 12, 1996, if possible.
Thank you for your cooperation.
%~
Reclamation Specialist
DAB/gaw
STATE OF COLORADO
M:brs\yew\WclLdab
