According to <br />your surveys and site meeting with this office on January 26, <br />2004, you are proposing to mine from monument SC 1 to SC 12. <br />Your proposed mining plan shows that you plan to excavate no <br />greater than 1 foot above the current thalweg and in no <br />circumstance below the 1996 thalweg elevations. To minimize any <br />potential operational errors during excavation, you plan to use a <br />Depth Master survey device which will be fixed to the excavating <br />equipment in a location that can be easily read by the operator. <br />This office apprOVes of your proposed mining surveys for <br />Dalton Pit SC 1-16. This letter serves as your approval letter <br />to commence your mining activity. You shall abide by the terms <br />and conditions of permit number 199475346, the November 28, 2003 <br />permit extension, and the enclosed water quality monitoring <br />requirements, establish by the State of Colorado. If you <br />determine it is necessary to modify your proposed excavation <br />depths and/or widths during your mining activity, you shall <br />notify this office for approval. <br />In addition, during our January 26, 2004 meeting, we <br />discussed critical locations for bank stabilization. These <br />locations include the eastern bank between <br />eastern bank locations near both SC 6 and 8. <br />the date of this letter, you shall submit a <br />plan for these critical areas.
