• 1
The water budget was calculated for the 1940-94 period: however, only the results for
1980-94 and 1981 an: presented in Tables A and B, respectively. The "1880 Storage
Resolution" implemented by the Arkansas River Compact Administration altered the manner of
operation of John Martin Reservoir. This resolution established storage accounts in the
reservoir, which allowed the ditch companies to call for the stored water when needed, which
greatly increased the utility of the water.
e
Table A shows the water budget for the parcel based on 166 shares for the 1980-94
period. The diversions averaged 255.9 acre-feet with an average total consumptive use of
133.8 acre-feet. or 0.81 acre-foot per share. Table B is the water budget for 1981, which
represents a dry year. The diversions for 1981 were 190.4 acre-feet with a total consumptive
use of 97.4 acre-feet, or 0.59 acre-foot per share. The Fort Bent Ditch Company charges 15
percent for delivering the water down-ditch to the turnout at Clay Creek, which reduces the dry-
year yield to about 0.50 acre-foot per share.
C:~96o~ Wnaa~mem s
Oi'd
'J'd `uaswe~~t~M g uo3LaH ViZ:Oi 00-ii-ady
