Cattany
Division Direcor
Natural Resource Trustee
Thank you for your inquiry as to the status of the compliance, reporting, and bonding concel-ning the above-named
peltnitted gravel pit. I have checked the permit file and our database, and can relate the foll~~wing to you:
1. You are the permitted operator of this site.
2. A Construction Materials 110 permit was issued in 1995.
3. There has been one amendment to the 110 permit: to increase the permitted acreage.
4. There has been one technical revision to the mining plan of the 110 permit: to increase th.e amount of disturbed
acreage.
S. There has been one conversion of the 110 permit: to increase the permitted acreage and convert the permit to a
112c permit.
6. The present bond amount is $24,002, and is considered adequate at this time to complete the approved
reclamation.
7. The site is regularly inspected by DMG staff. When problems have been found during past inspections, they
have all been minor in nature, and corrected in a timely manner. There are no outstanding problems to be
corrected. (The Division will contact you later in 2005 for scheduling the next monitoring inspection.)
8. The site has consistently been observed to be maintained in a neat and orderly manner.
9. The filing of annual reports and payment of annual fees is current, and has been timely each year.
For the record, this office considers you to be a consistently responsible operator, to be prompt and thorough in any
necessary follow-up documentation or onsite activity, and to provide high quality narratives, maps and diagrams of
the permit area for the several modifications to the permit (listed above).
I hope the summary about your permitted gravel pit, above, is sufficient for your needs. If further information is
needed, please contact me at the Division's Durango field office: 701 Camino del Rio, Room 125, Durango, CO
81301; telephone 970-247-5193.
Sincerely,
~~~ ~~~
Bob Oswald
Environmental Protection Specialist
Ec: Harry Posey, DMG
Office of Office of Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines Geological Survey
