5. leachate impacts on bedrock ground water - leachate dischazging into
bedrock in the toe of the pit will not cause material damage to bedrock
aquifers because the bedrock receiving the leachate is an unmined
wedge of bedrock that would transmit the leachate less than 1000 feet
to the bedrock's outcrop on the banks of Trout Creek or to the
bedrock's subcrop beneath the creek's alluvium (Exhibit 2.5-25).
6. leachate impacts on alluvial water - leachate transmitted to Trout
Creek alluvium through the unmined wedge of bedrock at the toe of
the pit will not cause material damage to Trout Creek alluvial water
because the leachate will be sufficiently diluted by the fresher alluvial
water (page 2.5-104). (L.eachate will not dischazge to Oak Creek
alluvium because Oak Creek is updip from the pit.)
I.eachate impacts on surface water - L.eachate discharging to the
ground surface in spoil springs will not cause material damage to
surface water in Trout Creek because the leachate will be sufficiently
diluted by the fresher stream water (page 2.5-104). Maximum TDS of
1186 mg/1 is predicted for Trout Creek immediately downstream from
[he Edna Mine. (leachate will not dischazge to Oak Creek surface
water because Oak Creek is updip from the pit.)
Edna Mine 21 Permit Renewal No. 4
