FIELD SAMPLING NOTES:
63083-1 Grey fine to very fine sandstone which oxidizes to red, orange, and yellow surficial colors
~ 63083-2 Grey fine to very fine sandstone with numerous black hairline organic streaks. Rock weathers (oxidizes) to a light green surface color.
63083-3 Mixed spoil, matrix is predominantly light yellowish brawn sandstone; vegetation consists of orchard grass, sheep fescue, Canada bluegrass,
regar brume, vnooth brume, titer milkvetch, and alfalfa.
~ 63083-4 Spoil matrix is predominantly dark gray to black shale, light green fine sandstone rocks and "wet spots° are present. No established
.
revegetation.
63083-5 Same characteristics as sample 63083-3 except spoil seems more alkaline due to establishment of more wheatgrasses, sage, and alfalfa.
63083-6 Same characteristics as sample 63083-3.
63083-7 Same characteristics as sample 63083-3 except mare alfalfa seedlings are present.
63063-10 Collected from soil pit, upper half of topsoil, 0-3 Inches, dark brown loam, many roots, predominantly cheatgrass with same slender wheatgrass,
foxtail barley, smooth brume, Canada bluegrass, and orchardgrass.
63083-11 Collected from soil pit, lower half of topsoil, 3-6 inches, dark brown loam, many roots, roots stop at topsail-spoil Interface.
63083-12 Collected from soil pit, spoil matrix 1s predominantly dark gray to black shale, 'wet spots' are present in surrounding area, no roots are
present in this medium.
f 63083-13 Collected from four soil pits, light yellowish brown sandstone, roots from orchardgrass, smooth brume and slender wheatgrass are selectively
traversing in this material rather than the surround dark grey to black shale medium.
92882-1 Spoil matrix is predominantly dark grey to black shale, °wet spats" are present, no established vegetation.
92882-2 Mixed sPOil, matrix is predominantly light yellowish brown sandstone, vegetation is similar to site 63083-3.
