the only form of sediment control left on the site as all sediment ponds have been removed and
reclaimed. Inspections to date have shown this method to be successful in controlling sediment
leaving the site. Minor rilling has been stabilized with use of hay bales and monitoring will
continue through monthly inspection and the annual rill and gully inspection.
Groundwater monitoring continues at the two remaining wells located in the Mann Draw
alluvium. Water level and quality are checked once in the spring and once in the fall, and results
are submitted annually in conjunction with the other required annual reports. Analysis results of
the hydrologic monitoring show no undesirable effects from mining.
Bourg Strip Mine. C-81-021 11 August 4, 1998
