The Proposed Action <br />The mining plan actions consist of a new mining plan for <br />Federal lease COC-54608 and mining plan modifications for <br />Federal leases C-081330 and D-052547. Specifically, the <br />mining plan actions proposed by TCC consist of: <br />(1) Underground mining of the Wadge coal seam in the <br />following areas that are depicted in Map 23 of the <br />permit revision application: <br />a) Longwall panels 7 Right, 8 Right, and 9 Right <br />b) Development mining of all of gateroads 5 Right <br />through 10 Right <br />c) Mains extending NW from the present northern <br />extent of the North mains approximately 8300 feet <br />d) Development mining of 1000 feet of gateroads 2 <br />Right, 3 Right and 4 Right <br />• e) Development mining of submains associated with <br />gateroads 2 Right, 3 Right and 4 Right <br />NOTE: Portions of mining operations a), b), <br />d) and e) lie in the previously approved <br />mining plan areas for Federal leases C-081330 <br />and D-052547. <br />(2) Surface activities consisting of borehole ponds and <br />dewater ponds located on approximately 8 acres of land <br />depicted on Map 17 of the permit revision application. <br />All of the above activities will occur within sections <br />~r _ / 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, and 29 of TSN, R86W. <br />/1r ~~y Proposed average annual production will continue to be 6-7 <br />~~~/// million tons per year, but the maximum production rate could <br />reach the a proved 8.0 tons per year. <br />The postmining lan a will be rangeland, pastureland, and <br />cropland. <br />With the proposed mining plan actions, the approved mining <br />plan areas for the Foidel Creek Mine would increase by 894 <br />• acres for a new total of 4561 acres of Federal coal which <br />includes the previously approved mining plan areas for <br />Federal leases C-20900, C-081330, C-0126433, C-16284, D- <br />052547 and COC-53560.
