RECLAMATION OPERATIONS
In accordance with the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Act of
June 1976, 116(1)(a)2.91 Annual Reports, the following information
is submitted:
NOTE: Please refer to color coded map FM-1, provided
for use with this report.
1. Location and number of acres affected during the time period
August 1979 to August 1980.
a. Approximately 37 acres were directly or indirectly
affected by surface disturbances during the first year
of operations at The Fruita Mines. Some of these surface
disturbed areas have been seeded or will be in the near
future.
2. Locations and number of acres reclaimed during the first year
of operations at The Fruita Mines.
a. Approximately 1.28 acres have been hydroseeded in the past
,year. These areas consist of a portion of the topsoil stock-
pile and a portion of the embankment of Sediment Pone #2.
3. Location and number of acres in various stages of reclamation.
a. Due to limited working space and the projected size of
this operation, most all of the surface disturbed areas
at The Fruita Mines will remain disturbed for the life of
the mine(s).
Three areas of approximately 2.36 acres have dirt work
completed and are ready for seeding. One of these areas
is the yard area of the abandoned Farmers Mine. The
second area is the northern portion of the topsoil stockpile
and the third area is a portion of a road no longer needed.
All of these areas are located within The Fruita Mines
permit boundary. These areas are planned to be seeded and/
or hydro-mulched in the late fall in order to obtain maximum
use of winter and spring moisture.
4. Species of vegetation planted, locations and approximate dates
of planting and/or hydroseeding.
a. Since all construction related reclamation that has been
completed or will be completed in the near future will be
re-disturbed to comply with the final Reclamation Plan `
(except for the abandoned Farmers Mine), a temporary seed
mix will be used on areas where re-disturbance will occur.
-1-
