Dep
Denver, Co. 80203
Re: Robinson Brick and Tile Company
Clay Pits in Jefferson County
Letter from Nancy Minick to Roger Funston dated July 28, 1978
Dear Mr. Funston:
Asa follow-up to the referenced letter from the City of Lakewood
concerning the Robinson Brick and Tile "limited impact operation"
at the north and south Chiefton Mines, the City of Lakewood Staff
has reviewed the proposal and has the following concerns:
1. Both mines are within the City of Lakewood Development Plan
as shown in our Comprehensive Plan (see enclosure, page no. 19,
figure 13), and should be reclaimed accordingly.
2. Reclamation within the urban area of Lakewood should be such
that original contours and drainage courses are restored, and
that proper compaction is applied in small enough lifts so
the structures can be placed on top of the reclaimed area.
3. That as proposed, interim revegetation should occur in native
grasses.
