ANACONDA Minerals Compar~
555 Seventeenth. cl
Denver, Colorado 80202
Telephone 303 575 4000
February 4, 1983
Mr. Robert Liddle
Reclamation Specialist
Mined Land Reclamation Division
423 Centennial Building
1313 Sherman Street
Denver. Colorado 80203
Dear Bob:
i III IIIIiiilililiili
r_c~ive~
Fk~ U71~~3
MINED V.ND kECLALIATION
COLO. DEP f. OF NATUdN. RE:C':.'.CES
This is to confirm our telephone conversation of January 31
during which we discussed submission of the Annual Hydrology
Report for the Mt. Gunnison Mine. As we discussed, no date for
submission of the Annual Hydrology Report was established in the
Permits to Mine granted by the CMLRD and the OSM to Atlantic
Richfield for the Mt. Gunnison Mine, Thus the due date of
January 31 was suggested by Atlantic Richfield and agreed to by
the CMLRD and the OSM during telephone conversations held on May
5, 1982 and confirmed by my letter to Tom Gillis of May 6, 1982.
However as collection of the information to be included in
the Report began, it became apparent that January 31 was an
unrealistic due date since the USGS gaging station water quality
data required by Stipulation 36 to be included in the report is
typically not available for three to four months after collec-
tion. Therefore data collected for October is not available
until sometime in mid to late January making it difficult to
incorporate into a report which must be completed by January
31. Thus we would like to request that the submission date for
the Annual Hydrology Report be moved to February 28 of each
year.
The Annual Hydrology Report covering October 1981 through
October 1982 will be submitted to you by February 15. Subsequent
hydrology reports will be submitted by February 28 of the year
following the year included in the Report.
Sincerely,
Paige 6~.
